Traditionally, if you want to work as a healthcare provider such as a doctor, you will have to study long years and serve residency program which takes up to 8 years. • Check the different schools there is in your location. It may help if the school is not too far from you so that you can lessen your expense in transportation or dormitories. Take note that each school has its own specialty. Go to the one that is catering to your interest. Make sure to list down the schools you have in mind so that you can do a comparison once you have gathered all of the information you need.
• When choosing a physician assistant school, make sure that you have all of the requirements upon enrollment. Each school has its own set of requirements that is why it is just important to check the list.
• Once you have chosen the physician assistant school that you want to attend to, make sure to start your application from enrolling yourself to the AMCAS or better known as the American Medical College Application Service. This initial application can be done online.
• Before application, you must have at least 3 letters of recommendations. You can ask your professor, a friend or your employer to give it to you just to expound your prospective.
• You also have to take and pass the MCAT or the Medical College Admission Test which will assess your capability to be in the field.
• You must also write a detailed essay emphasizing on your eagerness to be in the field of healthcare. Elaborate on your goals and plans on how you see yourself in the future of providing healthcare.
• Also, once you have finished every requirement, you have to be prepared with a thorough interview that will be conducted by the heads of the physician assistant school you are intending to go to.
